Eligibility Criteria for Leeds Doctoral Scholarship
- Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required. Applicants must meet the University’s minimum standard (IELTS 6.0 overall, no component below 5.5, or equivalent). Higher requirements may apply for some schools.
- Eligible Countries: Open to applicants from all countries.
- Academic Qualifications: Must hold a First Degree equivalent to a UK First-Class Honours Degree. Those with lower marks may be considered if they have a Master’s with Distinction or relevant experience.
- Fee Status: Must be classified as a UK fee-paying student.
- New Researchers: Open to new postgraduate researchers pursuing full-time or part-time PhD studies. Current PhD students are not eligible.
- Residence Requirement: Must live within a reasonable distance of the University of Leeds during the scholarship period.
